Industrial Cleaning Case Study:
Metal Dust Removal
ICD Europe Ltd. | Sheffield

Organisation Profile
ICD Europe Ltd. are global suppliers of primary metals, alloys and minor metals. They are a trusted and established manufacturer who serve the aerospace, medical, petrochemical, automotive, electronics and industrial gas turbine industries.
We are very proud to work with such an impressive and established company, to provide them with quality industrial cleaning services that can hold up to the quality of their products.
The Issues
ICD required cleaning for their industrial buildings to protect the Health & Safety of their employees. The process of preparing steel and other metals produces very fine metal dust particles which, when airborne, can cause respiratory problems and other health concerns. The metal dust rests on any level surface, including wall and ceiling panels.
Objectives
Remove fine metal particles from every surface
Our team’s job at Kingfisher was to remove any build up of fine metal dust from ceiling panels, girders, infrastructure, wall panels, purlins, and any other level surface.
Manoeuvre the space with MEWPS
The layout of the interior made access tricky in areas, therefore the team needed to carefully manoeuvre scissor lifts and cherry pickers around infrastructure or machinery.
Results Delivered
Our cleaning project involved two teams, a wall cleaning team and a ceiling cleaning team. Both operated scissor lifts and a large cherry picker to remove all dust particulate from surfaces while carefully navigating around our client’s infrastructure and machinery.
The team were able to work efficiently and thoroughly, with daily progress reports and images being reported to our client. As a result, the works were successful, with all surfaces inside the ICD building being cleaned free of all loose particulate and fine dust.
We are also extremely proud to have worked with ICD on multiple occasions, thus fostering a strong working partnership.
