Industrial Cleaning Case Study:
Industrial Deep Cleaning

The Issues
Project 1
Kemira initially presented our team with a unique and challenging task. They required a deep clean of certain production areas in their facility, where surfaces had become coated with product that had dried and hardened over time. It was essential that the product did not get wet during the clean, as moisture would change its composition from a solid to a slimy and sticky residue. This residue would then be extremely difficult to clean and remove from surfaces. Kemira’s in house staff found it challenging to remove this hardened product on their own, and so they got in touch with our team for help.
Project 2
We were proud to be asked back to Kemira a few months later, following the success of the first clean. This time, they were undertaking a roof repair project and were concerned that their product could be blown around the factory during construction. Again, the product could not come into contact with water or moisture and had to be prevented from contaminating other areas of the facility. The affected zone spanned three floors, therefore there was a significant area to manage from a logistics and cleaning perspective.
Objectives
Prevent contact with moisture
The product in question could not come into contact with water or moisture under any circumstances, as it would change composition from a dusty solid to a slimy and sticky residue. Our industrial cleaning team, therefore, had to use dry cleaning methods – such as grinders and heavy-duty industrial vacuum systems – to remove the product safely.
Remove hardened product from surfaces
Removing baked on product can be incredibly challenging, especially when we had to prevent the product from getting wet. Our goal was to complete a comprehensive deep clean of various surfaces to remove the dried product effectively and safely.
Prevent dust from escaping
For the second project, it was extremely important that no dust escaped or was blown from the work area into other areas of the factory. This was a Health & Safety concern due to the risk of inhalation. Our team therefore used heavy-duty industrial vacuum systems to collect the product directly into sealed bags for safe disposal.
Results Delivered
Our team successfully performed a full deep clean of Kemira’s production areas, removing the product effectively and safely.
We were proud to be invited back to complete a second cleaning project a few months later, following the success of the first.
