Case Study: Factory Exterior Wall Painting Project
Our painting team undertook a large scale factory exterior wall painting project in 2022 for a client in West Yorkshire. Read on to discover how we incorporated careful logistical planning with expert training and hard work to deliver an excellent result for our client.
Kingfisher recently delivered a large-scale industrial painting project at a client’s facility in West Yorkshire, transforming the factory exterior wall with a royal blue colour.
Kingfisher’s best work happens when we are tasked with finding bespoke solutions to meet our client’s needs. In this case, it involved finding the right equipment and tools to paint a mammoth facade with irregular dimensions and obstacles. This case study is an example of one of many industrial painting services we offer for industrial facilities across the UK.
In total, the facility was approximately 150m long, with various heights and dimensions to allow for outcroppings and various roofs.

Large industrial painting projects like these require thorough planning, quality equipment and trained operatives
For every job, our Operations Managers thoroughly plan and Risk Assess the project to deliver a bespoke working method.
In this instance, the job required an 80 tonne cherry picker, scissorlifts of various sizes and specialist enamel paint for the facade cladding.
Every industrial site is different and come with their own operations logistics and challenges. We work diligently to plan our projects so that our clients’ day to day activities aren’t disrupted.

Cherry pickers and scissor lifts
We hire only the best heavy industry equipment to reach high-level and hard to reach areas.

Appropriate PPE
We always ensure the health and safety of our operatives and our client’s employees.
Quality Training and Experience
All our Project Operatives receive cherry picker and scissorlift training, with a combined 15+ years of experience
Logistical and Health and Safety Challenges
As with all of our Projects, health and safety is the name of the game. This project in particular posed various logistical challenges, as the areas in need of painting were in the vicinity of high traffic walkways and busy thoroughfares.
It was a priority for our client that there was to be no disruption to production throughout the duration of the project, which we achieved thanks to careful organisation and planning of works to suit our client’s schedule.
Each individual section of work was cordoned off to ensure Health and Safety, with safety banksmen directing pedestrians to alternate walkway routes and monitoring the flow of HGV traffic.
Our Project Strategy allowed us to deliver works with zero down time or disruption to our client’s day to day operations. As a result, feedback from client managers was highly positive, in particular regarding logistical arrangements and Health and Safety provision.

Sections of the facade required using delicate cherrypicker manoeuvring from our trained operatives. Mini-rollers were used the paint the corrugated cladding, with weather-resistant enamel paint.

After this Project, our clients were able to impress their customers and visitors with an impressive looking entrance to their facility.
And a happy client means a happy Kingfisher!
