Planning an industrial project? Here’s what to keep in mind when booking contractors
Check out our infographic below for a visual representation of the pros and cons of bundled services vs separate contractors for industrial projects.
Planning a large scale industrial project can be a significant undertaking. Whether you’re installing a new factory or production area, renovating an industrial unit for end-of-tenancy works, or completing a large scale refurbishment project, multiple trades may be needed. However, where there are multiple trades, there are also multiple contractors, which can cause significant headaches on site.
Industrial managers therefore have the option of choosing between separate contractors for each individual service, i.e. electrics, plumbing, cleaning, etc., or they can choose contractors that offer more than one service so that fewer contractors are needed. Both choices come with their own advantages and disadvantages, and the right choice will largely depend on your circumstances.
However, for the most part, we believe that bundling services together with the right contractor comes with significant Health & Safety and cost benefits, while also reducing planning headaches and hassle associated with managing multiple contractors on site.
